Digital Self, by Yannick Plöger

This project is geared towards a self-representation in a digital environment. Through lines of codes, I want to represent myself. I use my work to create a character that can be whoever I want him to be. Through back-end coding I am able to customize the front-end look and feel of the space that I create. It is interesting to see how someone can create virtual worlds through a few lines of codes. Even though there are certain given parameters (header, body, footer etc.), the possibilities are endless.

Throughout this semester I gained a different view of how things and objects in our daily environment are constructed and how they exist. The two “worlds” (real and virtual) started to be more intertwined with time and code became the language that seems to be surrounding us anywhere we are. HTML or Java script are the hidden/unspoken languages that connect the entire real and virtual worlds. Life is built upon them.
